Andrew Paterson
Trustee

Andrew Paterson is Head of Principal Gifts at the University of Cambridge. His early career was in strategy consulting and private equity before he made the pivot to work in philanthropy, motivated by the belief that funding for research and education can profoundly influence society. He brings fundraising insight and broader strategic and investment expertise to support the aims of Mental Health Research UK.
Despite its potential to change the lives of millions of people in the UK and around the world, the level of overall funding for mental health research is catastrophically low. For this reason, and many others, Andrew is passionate about the value and importance of research into mental health.
Andrew holds an MA in Chemistry and an MSc in colloidal fluids from the University of Cambridge. He became a Trustee of Mental Health Research UK in 2021.
