My name is Daisy, and I am a volunteer for Mental Health Research UK.

Daisy Brookes works as a volunteer with Mental Health Research UK. Daisy is the Database Administrator and looks after our databases adding names of new Scholars and their supervisors or supporters who ask to be kept in touch with our work at Mental Health Research UK. Daisy has been with us for five years. It is thanks to Daisy and our other volunteers, under the management of David Riggs (also a volunteer) that we can proudly say that more than 95% of all donations are spent on research.

My name is Daisy, and I am a volunteer for Mental Health Research UK. I have been a volunteer for almost 5 years and have a full-time position within Adult Services in Bedfordshire. I undertake my time for Mental Health Research UK either one evening within the week or at the weekend. I thoroughly enjoy volunteering for MHRUK as I know I am contributing to a brilliant charity supporting mental health research.

Before I had even left school, I always knew I wanted to work within an environment supporting individuals with mental health issues. Therefore, I completed my Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification as an apprentice within a mental health hospital trust in 2016. I thoroughly enjoyed my time within this role and had a keen interest in my future career supporting individuals with mental ill-health. Shortly after completing my apprenticeship, I was in contact with David Riggs (the Mental Health Research UK Administrator) who advised that a volunteer position had become available. Therefore, I took the opportunity to take the volunteer position and have worked for the charity ever since.

I have just recently been successful within a new position as a Community Assessment Officer. This has been my passion for some time as I am looking to become a social worker - supporting the local community, with many different challenges including mental health.
