London Marathon 2013 On 21 April 2013 Karl Roberts ran the London Marathon in aid of Mental Health Research UK in a personal best time of 3h 3m. Congratulations Karl - what a fantastic effort! His Just Giving page is: www.justgiving.com/Karl-RobertsMHRUK Latest update from Karl: My number is 51764. Training has gone well, a bit of a shock Sunday when I could run in a vest and shorts rather than a coat, leggings, woolly hat and gloves ! Mental Health Research UK secured a place on the London Marathon for 2013 and Karl Roberts is going to run for us. Karl explains: I started running about 6 years ago to regain some fitness that you lack after 4 years of Uni where I completed a degree in geography and biology at Liverpool University, following up with a postgrad in secondary teaching. I now teach geography at Bishop Heber High School in Cheshire. After completing a few marathons, the great north run I decided to look for a new challenge, so took up triathlon. Later this year I am looking to complete the Ironman in Bolton, so the London Marathon will be a great training session! Along the way I have cycled from Lands’ End to John O’Groats for Claire’s House and ran across Hadrian’s wall for the stroke association. I think Mental Health Research UK is a great cause so please support my run. Well done Karl and thank you - Mental Health Research UK |
