Andrew's 2018 Challenges

I am running, running and swimming in 2018 for Mental Health Research UK because I want to see their much needed research continue.

Please take the time to visit my JustGiving page:

I am running two half-marathons in 2018 - the Manchester half-marathon on 20th May and the Great North Run on 9th September. Additionally I shall be swimming 1 mile of each of Ullswater, Derwent Water and Coniston Water, in June, July and August, in the Lake District. As well as hopefully improving my level of fitness, I shall be thinking of my son, Martin, who sadly passed away in 2011 and raising much needed funds for Mental Health Research (UK) (www.mentalhealthresearchuk.org.uk). Martin's background story can be read and his music heard at www.martinsutherlandmusic.com.

Mental illness accounts for approximately one third of all illness, but research into mental illness attracts less than ten per cent of all health related research funds. Please give your support to the cause of advancing the knowledge and understanding of mental health and reducing the pain and suffering that are caused by mental illnesses. 95% of all donations to Mental Health Research (UK) go to research projects, the results of which will make a difference in the future.
