Mental Health Research UK and the McPin Foundation have agreed to formalise our existing close working relationship to deliver our shared mission to transform mental health research; MHRUK through funding PhD studentships and McPin by ensuring research involves people affected by mental health issues in the design and delivery of studies.
Collaboration is at the heart of the way in which both charities work. By supporting each other, we hope to be able to achieve more in our work with the academics, service users, carers, practitioners and the wider community. We will share practical skills, knowledge and capacity between the two organisations and we will also encourage the PhD students supported by both charities, and their supervisors, to collaborate and share expertise. We are very pleased that Vanessa Pinfold the CEO of the McPin Foundation has joined our Trustee Board and Clair Chilvers has joined the McPin Foundation as a Trustee.
